About the City of Round Rock, Texas

Round Rock is a city in the state of Texas in Williamson County. Besides being the Headquarters for the Neovora offices, the city is highly regarded as one of the best small cities to live in and one of the largest growing population. It is home to the international headquarters of Dell. The city originated with a small community in 1851 near a large anvil-shaped rock, eventually adopting the name of Round Rock as a suggestion of its postmaster. The city grew from a bedroom community in the 1990’s to a super self-contained suburb with the presence of Dell and other major retailers such as IKEA, the Premium Outlet Mall and La Frontera which contains offices and company headquarter facilities, apartment complexes as well as hotels in the area.
Arts and Museums
Round Rock and the surrounding area has several Art Galleries and Museums to visit including the Little Pink Monster Gallery with events, art parties, behind the scene artist residencies and more. The Blantom Museum of Art has the largest collection of art in Central Texas. The Mexi-Arte Museum promotes traditional and Contemporary Latin American Art and Education. The Umlauf Sculpture Garden has classic sculptures and is free to visit. The Wild About Music is dedicated entirely to music with its art and gift gallery. The Tesoros Trading Company is a retailer where visitors can find folk arts and craft from around the world including countries like Burkina Faso, China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Madagascar, Brazil, Peru, Portugal and Spain among many others. The Hyde Park Theater combines its designers, writers and directors producing a broad and diverse theater scene. Symphonic Concerts are provided by the Round Rock Symphony and the Sam Bass Community Theater offers a wide variety of ongoing theatrical performances. Local artists demonstrate their talents in an open space area located Downtown called the Round Rock ArtsSpace.
Sports and Outdoor Activities
Round Rock boasts itself as the Sports Capital of Texas for youth and recreational sports including parks, ball fields and the Round Rock Sports Center hosting a wide variety of tournaments. The Round Rock Express Dell Diamond facility is home to the local baseball team and site for other events in amateur sporting and also concerts and art shows. The Play for All Abilities Park encourages play opportunities to help develop motor skills and social interaction for children while at the same time having fun.
The Rock N River Family Aquatic Center is a water park with water cannons, slides, water geysers, a beach play area and a river with tunnel showers. Golf enthusiasts enjoy the Terravista Golf Club or the Forest Creek Golf Club, with both amenities including snack bars, beverage carts and great service and courses. Old Settlers Park has softball, baseball, soccer, tennis courts, football fields, sand volleyball, a cricket field, and even an 18 hole golf course.
Shopping and Dining
The city has developed shopping centers for residents and visitors to shop locally. The result is a massive selections of places and stores to “Shop The Rock” in Round Rock, Texas. La Frontera, for example, is the largest master planned commercial business retail center in Williamson County. The area includes retail stores, office buildings, and a full service hotel (Marriott Hotel). Other shopping centers include The Boardwalk, The Hermitage, Mays Crossing, Renaissance, Skyline Center, and The Market. There are several restaurants with a variety of international and different types of cuisines to choose from, ranging from American to Asian, Italian, and Tex-Mex, Barbecue, Seafood,etc. Bars, Pubs and Coffee houses are also widely available in the shopping centers and downtown area.
